They are being paid a fine fee, so they put on a little show for these people.

I was fortunate enough to witness this live, and the energy in the room was amazing!
Everyone has their opinion, but the one statement that Mr. Bluman made that is absolutely asinine was "Coleman's time seems a bit wishy washy",...If I could send you a bitch slap in a pm, I would. You can't say it's your opinion, because it is based on something that is measurable. Maybe your ears are wishy washy? Go watch his Meinl Festival 2010 performances where he is playing over a click....the guy is a human metronome. Also, I don't think Stanley Clarke(or Prince,etc....) would hire a guy who's time was "wishy washy".

That shit was fun!
I loved the energy and interplay between them-- I was smiles all around
As for the whole "that wasn't musical and had no point" stuff, well, I don't know about you but I started playing drums because it was the most fun, awesome, powerful, loud, dynamic, and cool instrument in existence. The whole thing about being "musically sophisticated' came later. It's nice to see some heavyweights (especially Dave) just having a blast!

I think if you were to use the weightlifting analogy, it is more like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno getting loaded at a frat party playing beer pong and arm wrestling for the hell of it.Robert Bluman wrote: It's like watching 2 guys lift weights. Who can lift the most??
