His playing on Tal Wilkenfeld's solo record is very nice. I think he's on several Oz Noy records too. The Steely Dan stuff is just slick pop grooves.electrizer wrote:Anyone can recommend three best albums with his playing? Will get them right away!

He plays on every track (I believe) on Donald Fagen's Morph the Cat. Though you're not going to hear his kick drum sound, the dryness of the record doesn't prohibit his ability to groove or play for the song. I'm a huge fan of Oz Noy and Keith plays at least a few tracks on every record- the studio record he did with Wayne Krantz a long with the live stuff is fantastic too). I find that he, along with Vinnie, appear on a lot of Nashville country/pop records. Some folks don't really dig all of the stuff Rudder does, but that's certainly a great outlet for him as a musician (he gets to use more of "his" sound). I wish there was an actual live record of John Mayer's that he played on, but there's plenty of full length stuff online I'm sure you could transfer to MP3...DSOP wrote:His playing on Tal Wilkenfeld's solo record is very nice. Keith is fantastic. Though Rodge is right, he's not a genius per say, his style and groove are signature without any argument. As far as I'm concerned a style and sound like that hasn't quite registered to this degree since Steve Gadd- I'm sure there are plenty of cats that will argue that statement.

Most likely due to the venue, travel logistics, catering, and other issues hidden from view.

That was my nice way of saying Carlock isn't bringing it the way Dave does. Or Dennis.
