On the 31st of October, Dave stated that within a few days, we'd have something. A few days went by. And another few days. And another few days. And
another few days. And another few days. That didn't sit well with me.
I may share some of the thoughts of the other points you posted Morgenthaler, but I think that the timing you wrote about Dave´s is a little exaggerated...

I don´t find anything wrong, and I don´t feel cheated, with this timing announcement (from Dave´s FB page):

30th october - "BIG announcement coming. REALLY big."
7th november - "Thanks for your patience! Almost ready to announce a REALLY cool thing. Stay tuned just a little longer!"
10th november - "Dave is making a new album! Click the link to learn more! Watch the video at the top of the page and jump on board for this exciting project!"

- which just proves that we have very different takes on those things. But come on, 10 days aren't a few. 2. 3 maybe, if we are splitting straws.
The wording in the 2 first posts led me to believe I'd get an update/announcement within a few hours. That varies from person to person, of course.

PS: Just for the record, the reason I started this thread was pure excitement.

Please re-read what you wrote and ask yourself: is it productive to become fixated on the timeframe by which Dave Weckl communicates on Facebook? Or, to others in this forum, is it productive to become fixated on Pledge Music's decision to extend Dave's deadline?

I can't believe there is time for this kind of drama amidst all the pre-existing drama we all have to deal with.

Here's an idea: how about a little narrative on what you'd like to see from this project?

- Which drummer should Dave record with?
- What genres should they cover? Maybe a rock tune? With a singer? Some straight ahead Jazz?
- Which guest artists should be on there?
- What kind of sound should Dave go for? A hint: he's been messing with a totally open bass drum and some funny mic'ing to get a crazy FAT sound. A good idea?
- So, you don't like some of the things Dave/Jay have done? What, in your opinion, should they avoid doing this time?

Use the forum productively. You have a straight line to Dave and Jay. Tell me what you think and I'll absolutely let them know.

I'll bite.

I'd love to hear Dave take on a "prog" song form. Less business and more creative grooves, and see what he comes up with.

A little Dregsy, or RTF-y.

Just my 0.2.

I can't believe it either... but I think without the "fixation" of some people to proof others wrong in their OPINION there wouldn't have been any drama in the first place! Noone has been rude or unreasonable... so why not live and let live?

-Virgil or Brian Blade (to suggest 2 extremes that I love)
-Drum 'n bass or record a free form solo for this album (has he done that before? I'm not sure)
-Bobby McFerrin, Brett Garsed, George Whitty
-Just let him know that 'Mud Sauce' isn't FAT. Make it fatter from there.
-If Jay is using an organ sound, make it come from an actual organ. Maybe some edgier Nord Lead sounds too.

@ several PS: We are discussing a range of different things. Chill out. We all want to see Dave succeed.

Firstly, Steve, thanks for coming on the board and keeping us up to date with what Dave is up to.

- Which drummer should Dave record with? 'Masterplan' had Dave and Gadd. What about Dave and Vinnie playing music? Perhaps a Vinnie original?
Or Peter Erskine, maybe?

- Which guest artists should be on there? Maybe Andy Summers, Bill Frisell, David Torn or Allan Holdsworth? Or all four.
