Again, I recommend DOWNLOAD HELPER plugin for Mozilla Firefox.
I think is available for MS Internet explorer and not for Safari and Chrome. Search and see.
Every audio or video file existing in a web page, you do ONE CLICK in the upper side of your browser and you have the file saved in mp4 or mp3 and more in your computer. And you can do multiple downloads at the same time.
I used Real Player and other webs that download the file link, but this little beast is THE BEST and easy, and of course it works for any web page, not only for youtube.
And this Vinnie video made my Download Helper smiles...

I have AllMyTube for Mac. Downloaded it, converted it to an mp4. It looks good.
