Another significant hero for me is Ed Uribe... Discovered him with Tiger Okoshi's Band (TIger's Baku)... He was playing with Iden Esen, Kai Eckhardt and Bruce Bartlett. What a magical night.
Ed's drive, pocket, chops, fusion-latin vocabulary and how he interpretted Tiger's tune remains a significant Milestone for me. Not enough clips of him on youtube.. Here's very good one Ray Barretto at Chicago Jazz Fest.

The guy who played on Gary Numan's record.
I was watching this and remembering that I used to play to Cars all the time. He had a powerful full ballsy way of playing.
And this music actually still sounds pretty good to me, great guitar and the synths are powerful. No chained to bpm tempos either.
The vocals are kinda...unique. But credit him for how this show looked and sounded in 1979. Hell Gary Numan is a hero!
Dammit, just found out Cedric Sharpley passed away last year...damn. RIP.

Hell yeah bro. Can I call you bro? Gary Numan, either you get it or nor. But if you were in 7th grade when Pleasure Principle came out. Whoah.

Sure thing dude.
Guess what, I don't think there are any guitars there! I also like how the bass sounds, very funky.
Maybe these EDM cats need some real powerful drumming behind them to get the scene chicks grooving rather than a laptop. Shpongle does that every once in a while. It costs money though, and that would cut into thet 50000 those guys ask for, and get.
It's funny, I was at a festival last year and EOTO no-showed, which is another insane story, but the end was covered by slamming a jam band called The Werks together with a "DJ".
The DJ had his beats, which went totally against anything the jam band was trying to do. It was a gigantic trainwreck.
