Dion Derek was one of my very first big inspirations. His mix of funk feel and hard rock attitude paired
with great and intricate playing made him an instant fav of mine. Here he is with his mom and pop playing
in Denmark back in 1990. And of course his mom, Baby Jean Kennedy is a force of nature.
His fills in the opening to Somebody To Love (@ 6:45 and 6:52) are simple but they sound and feel SO good:
