Whoa. That was borderline ear offense! Of course, he's technically good. But, that was an assault on my ears. To each his own, I guess...

Went to the D to hang out with friends last night and catch Loverboy. I was pleasantly surprised how good they were. Same lineup save for the bass player who passed away long ago. Tight band, vocals were on point. And Matt Frenette's drumming was excellent. Solid time, cool hard rock fills, great sounding Yamahas, creative in spots without drawing attention to himself. Right up my alley.

Another good hard rock performance, Ozzy with Carmine. Carmine throws in some heavy licks, I like his groove. Solo at 18:56, gong at 20:52.

Frenette had a unique style...HUGE TOM TOMS...
He was all over MTV at the early stages...weird
to see him from behind like that as tho he never
aged

Who knew? Not me...
Jim Peterik founder, guitarist, songwriter in Survivor
was the lead singer and writer for Vehicle...love this
tune! Influenced as a huge fan of Blood Sweat & Tears
he actually submitted this song to them and they
would even take the tape...only to meet them after
the song got big with the comment, "Remember that
kid who wanted write a song for you guys?...that was
me and Vehicle was the song!"
Peterik gives an excellent vocal performance on this tune!
Guy had a great voice...if you listen to this entire record
it is very BS&Tears! Solid drumming...just goes to show
how important a hit song is to get recognized as being a
great "drummer"...this LP is as good as any in its genre
of the time.
Oh...he also wrote Hold On Loosely by 38 Special one of
my favorite rock tunes.
One of the WORST LP covers ever? I say YES...truly amazing
how a band/Warner Bros green lighted this...like naming your
band The Babys or Loverboy: Measure twice, cut once guys!
This is very cool

Metropole Orkest are so damn good and Martijn Vink on drums is a great drummer. Pocket for days.

Ricky Quagliato...first off, that was impressive! Second thot was
this is a practice routine to throw in as many chops as humanly
possible within a groove. Either way...dude's got game.

One wonders how he would handle playing Comfortably Numb.
