It´s very well done for me, Chris.
I like the scenary, lighting, cams angle...and the sound and your playing.

One thing to make clear the subject you are talking about:

In the video title and text intro it says "How to play feeling this part 1"

Using some capital letters or quotation marks (" ") would be better.
For example:

How to play FEELING THIS by Blink 182

-----------------PART 1

It´s not a fundamental thing but if helps to improve the quality of the work...
If someone like me, doesn´t know the song, the title of the video maybe be confusing...(and I was at the beginning)
I know that changing the text and all the rendering/uploading thing is painful, but it´s a point to consider.
* * * * * * *
Which mics are you using in your toms ?

Thanks.

First of all, Chris, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE LESSON WHEN ALL OF MY ATTENTION IS FOCUSED ON THAT AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS KIT? HMMM!

But seriously, great job! Great production! And I particularly liked your incorporation of technique into the lesson. It does a great service to those who haven't spent a lot of time with hand and foot technique by demonstrating a practical application of it so they better understand why they would want to do so. You don't see that often.

Maybe it's just me (since I've never listened to Blink 182, and wouldn't know it from a baloney sandwich), one thing I would recommend is spend a little more time grooving that beat up front to give the listener more time to appreciate it. And then, be more specific about the song, where it came from, who played it, etc. All this just to draw the listener in and give him/her all the more reason to be interested in what the lesson is going to be about.

Just my two cents.

I've shown that intro/song to a few students. From now on I'll tell them to watch your video. :P
Excellent job teaching, production wise, great sound and angles... I love how to cut to the transcription so we can see exactly where you are.
The only suggestions I have is changing the title as mentioned earlier and stop touching everything when you're done talking.

Looking forward to more lessons with cooler material in the future.

Great job Chris! Sound, production and playing are top notch as they are with your other videos. Because I wasn't familiar with the tune, at first glance I thought it was a general instruction on feel so the title with the artist name will be helpful in future videos.

I agree with what others already said. I think you did a good job with it, explained yourself and the ideas well. Maybe put some transcriptions on the screen?

Thanks Guys..

Great pointers.. haha touching everything after I've stopped playing , I totally notice that now.. It's going to drive me insane..

Juan,... The mics I'm using are AKG 214's... They are like a 414 but only the cardioid pattern,.. For me a killer mic.. Around the same price as a Senheisser 421, but can be used for more things.. Lots of top end bleed though so gating or physical editing of the tom tracks are a must depending on how much compression you use..

Henry,... That kit is pretty nuts, I started working with TRS custom drums a few months ago,.. They actually do inlays in the shells, it's crazy.
and they sound badass as well..

Do you guys like the full cut to notation as opposed to an overlay?.. I wanted to make it so it's more like I'm teaching an actual lesson.
For me, I find it too distracting to watch someone play and see the notation at the same time,..

Does anybody know how to link the videos in Youtube so they can go from one part to the next?

I should have been more clear, sorry...

I think that the notation you did was great, but I personally would rather see it up on the screen while youre playing. Kind of makes a simultaneous approach to what youre playing and may help some people make a connection.

Either way, great job :)

- If you want an external link to a specific time mark:
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/link-to-y ... te-second/

- If you want to make a link (note) in your youtube video, so you can click and jump to a time mark while you are watching it:

Go to your youtube channel - in your video - go to the EDIT page - then go to the EDIT ANNOTATIONS.

Follow the instructions of timing / link etc...

Good luck.

Very nice Chris! My only suggestion is to keep the videos a bit shorter in length.
