Wow, so much stuff with regards to B-sides and unreleased tracks on here. Just bought a couple of Sting singles to get hold of some of these tracks. Please do share if you can find the alternate version of "Fill her up". Would love to hear that.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. I thought I'd be able to find this version somewhere on the internet, but that hasn't been the case. So I just had to dig a little bit through some of the old boxes of cds. Here is the original version of Fill Her Up:

Sting - vocals, bass
Dominic Miller - guitars
Don Blackmon - keyboards
Mark Eldridge - keyboards, programming
Vinnie Colaiuta - drums

Enjoy!

baht habit! Thanks a bunch for sharing that, awesome to hear some unreleased stuff with Sting and Vinnie. Would you mind sharing how you got hold of that? I've been taking a look at b-sides, singles and Sting's "B-Sides & Rarities" but couldn't find this anywhere.

You're welcome. I personally prefer this version so much more than the one that was officially released. But I suppose it would be a no-brainer for most of us drummers and musos: Vinnie ripping in 7 throughout the entire track vs. a version with a mock country feel during the verses and James Taylor affecting a southern drawl. No contest.
A & M put out a limited edition promo of some unreleased material from the Brand New Day era. I believe that these songs were intended to be used as b-sides on subsequent singles such as Desert Rose, After The Rain Has Fallen and A Thousand Years - but instead opted to issue dance remixes of the songs and selected live tracks on the Desert Rose and After The Rain Has Fallen cd singles. And the label scrapped plans for a single release of A Thousand Years.
