Ok, maybe not, but I think this guy, Evgeniy Anoev, could go places.
It's like if Gergo sat down at Weckl's set and played some stuff that Scott Kinsey wrote.
It might lack a bit in the originality department (I might reconsider that) but it sure has some
real potential. His playing is smooth, fluid and has good chops. Check him out.

Cool lead synth sound! Fun songs to jam on. Sounds good to me.
Keith Mansfield rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice find.. I too really like the lead synth sound.. very strong player... Agreed on the Weckl influance, even his tom positioning reminds me of DW...
I have not followed Gergo much... What aspect of Gergo's playing are you referring to? Also.. He is from Russia, right??

Gergo is from Hungary. Evgeniy Anoev is from Russia. I immediately thought of this performance:

Yes, now I hear the link... Gergo's performance's got more energy, zest, punch... But man, Evgeniy can definitely PLAY!!

I agree. Gergo's performance is still very fresh. I absolutely love his playing in that clip. Monstrous. Go Gergo!
Re: Gergo Borlai meets Dave Weckl
Speaking on the 2nd video. Lots of chops. Slightly pushing it (in some cases questionably rushed). Riffing to easy synth punches has become almost cliche at this point.
The drummer in me is like "YA MORE NOTES!!! YAY LOTS OF NOTES!!!!" the musician in me is like "That's absurdly dense, little to no breathing room for phrases, etc"
*shrug*
Not sure how I feel about the whole 'ripping to programmed vamps' thing. Given the (unknown)practice time, anyone can play some very dense choppy stuff to backing tracks.
I want to see stuff I haven't seen before....
