Yes, it is banned. I'll have to find some other file to seed.

Re: Help on Dimeadozen
Ok, since my last two files have been banned this makes me ask this question.
I want to create a torrent from some files I have in my computer but Dime is asking for some info files to put with my torrent. How do I create those info files? With a document in Word? And what do I write in that document since I don't have that much info on the files?

Re: Help on Dimeadozen
Excellent work on the attempts. You will get one that will fly if you stay with it! It will be worth it. I swear!
As for the information needed it is mostly techincal type stuff?:
Art Blakey Tony Williams Group
Chateauvallon, France
August 20?, 1972
Duration: 1:12:49
Data Size: 2.89 GB
Bit Rate: 5.69 Mbps
Video Tracks:
224 MPEG-2, 720 × 576, 4:3, 25 fps, 7.00 Mbps, lower field first
Audio Tracks:
160 PCM stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps
In order to get that techincal info about a video you will need another program that identifies such things. I use a free program called "Streamclip."
http://mpeg-streamclip.en.softonic.com/mac
You drag all the files from the VIDEO_TS folder into stream clip and then get the info from streamclip with "command-i"
Other critical info is date of the recording/s, and track/song info if available.
this information is put into a .txt file (same kind you used to get the Tony Solo DVD info). That .txt file must be saved as a "plain text" type of file. I use Apple's basic text editor program.
Do you have your md5 info file yet?

Re: Help on Dimeadozen
Hi Matt!!
Thanks for the info again.
I don't know what is a MD5 info file.
I tried uploading some audio files but all the format I used weren't good. I tried m4a, wav, lossless... Nothing worked. What kind of format do they want?

Re: Help on Dimeadozen
md5 files are required as well. md5 is a set of fingerprints generated by the asset's data. If you and I have the same video folder on our computers, we can both run DIFFERENT md5 software on our matched videos and get the same results. This helps to identify videos because if there is ANY change to a VIDEO_TS contents that will make a whole new md5 fingerprint. This is what md5 looks like:
095af68dec967b106f9649cf61129c36 *VIDEO_TS.BUP
095af68dec967b106f9649cf61129c36 *VIDEO_TS.IFO
5f7973ff9e4152827994d4149c8af39d *VIDEO_TS.VOB
838766fde1569f42b5f173f54dd20e61 *VTS_01_0.BUP
838766fde1569f42b5f173f54dd20e61 *VTS_01_0.IFO
4b64e732012259977dd0cb8c652b86b3 *VTS_01_0.VOB
cee88b70af26e7370c143ee094ac1f78 *VTS_01_1.VOB

78966870915b502fff71ca4b634231dd *VTS_01_4.VOB
5bcd5ecad0e42e53d8ef4f52c4e14d2f *VTS_01_5.VOB
To get that stuff, I use another free program called xACT to create md5 info for my torrents.
http://download.cnet.com/xACT/3000-2140_4-46123.html
It's pretty simple. Again drag and drop the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder into xACT to create "checksums". When asked choose the "traditional" method. Wait 30 seconds and its done.
In review for a successful torrent you must have:
Main folder including the following:
VIDEO_TS folder with you video data in it
md5 file
.txt file with relevant info
095af68dec967b106f9649cf61129c36 *VIDEO_TS.BUP

Info help from DIME:

I forgot to mention in the .txt file it is good to provide some 'lineage' info whenever possible:
Source:Realistic Cassette Recorder W/Built In Mic>1st Generation Cassette>Sony TC-D5M Cassette Deck(Playback)>Edirol R-09 HR(24/44.1 KHZ)>CD Wav Editor>Traders Little Helper>Flac Level 8.Sector Boundaries Aligned Using Traders

Re: Help on Dimeadozen
same process. same info required, more or less. I dont do a whole lot of audio, but when I do I create FLAC files from the original WAV files. This can be done using the same program for md5 . . . xACT. If you source from an mp3 the torrent will be banned. The FLAC files will need md5 finger prints too . . . also generated from xACT. You will also need to provide a .txt file with relevant info.
gotta chk here:

Re: Help on Dimeadozen
Before you create the torrent with transmission, your source files should look something like this:

There are a few FLAC files, a md5 file, and a .txt file
the contents of the above md5 look like this:
e019260a97b5085156e851a127f7fa0d *01 Proto Cosmos.flac
03db5fde7655da4108fdb8e2c1ca89ff *02 There Comes A Time.flac
d8843160d12c977b783574dbc44947ef *03 .flac
9c63350b936e466fd99beaff4fbd716d *info.txt
the .txt contents look like this:
TONY WILLIAMS LIFETIME 80 - North Sea Jazz Festival 1979 - Den Haag , The Netherlands FM
Widely regarded as one of the most important and influential jazz drummers to come to prominence in the 1960's, Williams first gained fame in the band of trumpeter Miles Davis, and was a pioneer of jazz fusion.
He has played with John McLaughlin, Jack Bruce, Allan Holdsworth, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Public Image Limited, Bill Laswell, just to name a few.......
Line up :
Tony Williams - drums
Tom Grand - piano
Bunny Brunel - bass
Todd Carver - guitar
Bruce Harris - keyboards
Setlist :
01 Proto Cosmos
02 There Comes A Time
03
Lineage : Cassette > Audacity > CD Wave Editor > FLAC 8
Another one from the box of old tapes !!
ENOY !
FREDHEADSET
hope this helps!
