Although he's used DW pedals for years, I can't really picture Vinnie behind a DW kit - but the Jazz Series drums sound really nice...JohnDrum wrote: Here's hoping we don't see him behind DWs any time soon...might just be me, but I've yet to hear DWs that sound good( to my ears, any way)
Vinnie/Gretsch divorce?

Im guessing a endorsement with Percussion plus.
It would be dope to see Vinnie behind a set of Sonors. Hed make those drums sound better than they already do.

Vinnie apparently went with North Drums:

I think Vinnie would sound great on DW drums. Personally I believe the problem with most DW kits is that they are brand new and don't necessarilly belong to the drummers that are playing them. They are supplied, or rented, or whatever. I have had my DW kit going on 7 years, and they sound great. Drummers who hate DW like my kit. Yet the day I got them, I hated them. For the longest time I wanted to sell them. Im no tuning monster by any stretch, but I believe not only my learning about the individual drums themselves, but the curing of the wood over time has drastically improved their sound. I'd prefer to see Vinnie on DW over Pearl. It is kind of hard to imagine the modern Vinnie on anything but Gretsch or Yamaha.

Seems appropriate considering the site's history.Morgenthaler wrote:3 pages on Vinnie's departure from Gretsch?

Alright. I just noticed the thread of Carlock's move to Gretsch is going on 9Steve Holmes wrote:Seems appropriate considering the site's history.Morgenthaler wrote:3 pages on Vinnie's departure from Gretsch?
pages, so maybe it's just me who thought it was a little much.
Really, I didn't mean much else than to poke a little fun.
I still think the best sound I've heard him with was the Sting Live in Japan (on his old Yamahas).
Speaking of Vinnie, look at that pic from the Cliff Almond/Dirty Loops thread

I liked that North drums ad!! haha
What´s wrong with Pearl now? I really do believe that no matter what the Vinster chooses, he will still sound like the amazing superhuman drummer that he is AND have an equally amazing sound. In that I have no doubt!! He could have chosen a cheap ass entry level kit for my sake....
When that is all said and done - I´d love to see him with a Tama kit.
