Tama drum throne

I recently picked up this Tama drum throne, and it is easily the most comfortable throne I have ever used. Easy to adjust, and NO WOBBLE! Highly recommended.

Hmm. I have the same top and the four-legger base, and it wobbles like a sonofabitch. Eventually took out that nylon insert which improved matters a bit, but still far from perfect. Now I grant you I do displace more bathwater than the average drummer, but still...

That's weird... I wonder if they've modified the design since you got yours. Every throne I've ever had wobbled a bit, but this one is solid.

Very comfy throne. We have these at GC and its my favorite one in the store. I might have to get one! Super wobbly if the wing nut isn't tightened to the post.

I think the nylon wears out after a time. I've used Gibralter thrones for years, never had any issue of wobble or otherwise. Though like Isaac mentioned, I think people don't have things tightened up properly and it causes excessive wear to the joint area.

To be fair, I would not be surprised if I was more than twice Simon's weight.

I happen to have that Tama and it's a great seat, no wobble here. But about 3 years ago I bought the Yamaha DS-840, not too expensive so I gave it a try because it was a new design. The 3 legs spread much wider giving it a rocksolid stability and the ability to withstand serious heavy weights. It's simple and smart design uses machined steel for the parts that need to be extra-strong. The rubber feet are soft so the grip is great too. Also the Pearl Roadster is a great throne. But my fav is the Yammie 840.

I have that throne too, but I use the DW seat on it. The DW seat is a bigger diameter and stiffer foam. It's the best thing DW has ever made. I guess I could try the Tama seat on that Yamaha base too. That might be even better!
