Yeah, same here re Meshuggah. Looking forward to it. Get some music geek time in with the son since it'll be a 90 minute or so drive from the S.F. Bay. Was hoping my copy of the new Steven Wilson disc would show up, but it hasn't. I may buy another for the trip and give it to my son after.bstocky wrote:Wow. That will be an intense night of drumming. Meshuggah is the heaviest music I can listen to. They're great.

Great VID!

That's the Berklee kid from the Gospel Chops vids.
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

Matt was pretty amazing last night. The whole AAL set is tightly arranged but he got several solo spots and, yes, there was quite a bit of gospel chops influence, now that you mention it. Tosin Abasi is quite the guitar god, too.
Meshuggah was crushing. A brutal, pummeling set - as you'd expect. I hadn't seen that kind of apocalyptic intensity in many years. Crimson '74 comes to mind. They're playing L.A. tonight at the Wiltern and Sunday at House of Blues in Las Vegas. I see there are still some mezzanine tickets for L.A. - last night in Sac sold out.
