It seems that you started out as being obviously excited about this-- look at the title of the post! Now, it is "all that you have going on at the moment" and you are gong to "make the best of it". It sounds like perhaps the board has taken the wind out of your sails in regards to this gig-- I can very much see how that would happen. But, I think that you have a lot to be happy with in terms of your playing here and the gig in general. Take that and run with it.
Gigs come and go, but your enthusiasm and willingness to take risks and put yourself out there playing-wise and critique-wise is more valuable than any advise that anyone on here can offer. Don't let that get extinguished, and don't trade positive attitude in for something as trivial as us telling you whether you should have played quarters on the chorus, or opened the hi hat a little more. I'm not saying that you are doing that, but just a reminder
