Cool. I take it there won't be any kind of statement about this in public - are you able to give us any insight into how he arrived at this? Just enjoyed this period of not having a company and decided he'd make it permanent?

He's had enough of the shenanigans. Going out with a custom kit built by Chris Heuer and some Craviotto snares.

Never heard of Chris before... Keller shells? Any details on the specs?

Good for him. The endorsement thing is a big circus anyway -- it's not about the free gear; it's about the road support. The only issue I'd foresee when going with a Heuer kit is that it would need to be transported to all his gigs, and that could be pretty much impossible at times. And I don't think Chris has enough time to build various duplicate kits to stash around the world for Vinnie's use.

It doesn't have to be. It should be a mutually beneficial relationship for both parties.

That's not a problem. I'm sure Vinnie has Yamaha, Ludwig, Gretsch drums in lockers all over the planet and if he doesn't he can make a phone call and get whatever he needs/wants. Did Vinnie sell all of his Gretsch stuff once he went to Ludwig? I doubt it. It's probably stored somewhere.

Think about Matt Chamberlin and all the gear he has endorsed. He probably has a whole warehouse filled with incredible drums. Sonor, DW, Ayotte, DW again, Ludwig, Craviotto ... I think I'm missing one ...

Huh? Have you played them? Dude, Chris is a magician with drums. I'm pretty sure these are Keller shells. Not sure about the hardware, maybe Gretsch lugs and Yamaha stands.
