The stick...? Are you serious? What about his hair? Does it deflect the resonance of his ride bell in a way that doesn't really sit with you? I mean, come the f%*# on! The guy is a league of his own with... Ahh, forget it... The stick...gretsch-o-rama wrote: UGH. That would be horrible, IMO. Something aesthetically doesn't settle with me with Jojo and I think it's the stick he uses. It's a really bizarre stick that's not even the length of a 7A. That may give him that distinctive sound but it's one I don't care for, musically speaking.

Yes, really the stick. A shorter stick gives you less leverage(with more control) so you won't be able to "play in" to the drums as much. i.e. loss of power. His stick choice is really an aesthetic choice given the uniqueness of it and its adaptabilty to the the style of music he plays....For God's sake, I'm not saying it's wrong, just not a choice I would make....And this gives me a thread idea as well....

Great interview with JoJo in the newest edition of drummer here in the UK... He mentioned he's using a new HHX model of the 22" Omni cos he misses the darker cymbal... Would be very interested in hearing that. I like both the Omnis out at present, but something darker would be just the ticket

I'm glad that Jojo has found a niche that he's passionate about and seems to work for him...That seems to make a difference these days...
